One thing that is such a weird feeling is seeing your family after being away from them for so long. You have this new personality and create a new life for yourself that is very separate from the family.
A quick reminder at this point in the blog I still have not told my parents about having a boyfriend.

My mum, dad and sister came to pick me up from university and we went to Charlie Purley
https://www.thecharliepurleypubbognor.co.uk/ which served an amazing carvery. As I had created a new life for myself which included only eating dinner at dinner time, it was weird eating lunch and I did not feel well as the previous night I was nervous.
Although it was lovely to see my parents and have some vegetables again because our canteen never served any vegetables.
It was funny because we were talking about falling in love and I asked the question, do you think it is possible to fall in love with someone in one day? My whole family said no. I laughed inside because it kind of happened to me.

We took a trip to the beach and had a small walk along the beach. One thing my boyfriend and I had in common was we both had an octopus plushy. He had a yellow and red one and I had a purple and green one. I asked my family to bring her down so they could meet each other.
We went back to my university room to have a chat, my boyfriend joined us but as a friend and another one of my flatmates also joined in the conversation. My dad and flatmate got on well, whereas my mum and boyfriend were chatting. Then my sister and flatmate went to make cups of tea whilst we all chatted. My boyfriend and I were acting as just friends though, but it was nice to see him interacting with my family and everyone getting to know each other.
A funny moment occurred though, Mum had to take a quick phone call in the hallway and then she texted me and said come here I need letting in. Just as I let her in she said is there anything I need to know about the boy on your bed and I said oh no we are just friends. Mum said yeah, but you don't let anyone put feet near you. I just said he's more like a cousin to me.
They finally left and it was back to being with my boyfriend as normal, rather than faking that he was just a friend or flatmate.
Quote of the blog:

This quote is so insightful, it is so true, the dating stage is about finding out who you are but also who others are and how they work. A relationship is 2 people working together throughout life and understanding each other no matter what.
