Christmas Holidays + extra

I love how I am writing about Christmas time in August, but oh well, Christmas should be an all-year thing, to be honest.

Anyway, after saying goodbye to my boyfriend and crying so much because I was not going to see him for a long time we took a drive to my Grandma's house and that is how my holidays started.
A lot happened in the holidays, we saw lots of our family and we had trips out, but a lot of it was working on my essays for the New Year.
However, there was one main conversation that kept happening all through the holidays. This was about me going to my boyfriend's house for New Year's.

There were 3 sides to this, there was my side in the fact that I had not celebrated any celebrations with him yet apart from his birthday we do not do anything for New Year and I missed my boyfriend a lot. We had been apart for nearly a month and I cried every night. I also wanted to meet his family for the first time and get to know them. My boyfriend lives 4 hours by train which meant travelling all day, and I had never travelled that long on a train by myself.
There was my sister's argument about the fact that it was our last New Year in our house and our 'tradition' would not be the same without me. The tradition was that we went to a kebab shop just before midnight and we would watch a film. My parents usually went to bed at 10:00 and my sister and I would be up until midnight.

Then there was my parent's argument that they did not know this boy, they did not know his family, are his family would allow me to stay, where would I sleep, how much would it cost and how would I get there. Every question was answered, his parents had invited me down, I would sleep in the same bed as my boyfriend, it cost me around £25 and I got on 4 different trains using the Trainline app.
In my family, I would not be allowed to have my boyfriend sleep in my bed under my parent's roof, he can sleep in the same room, on a mattress but we cannot share the same bed. This is something I accept but will never understand. However, it is different in my boyfriend's house, we can sleep together.
After lots of chat back and forwards, I was allowed to go. We were sleeping at my aunt's house the night before New Year's so I went from her train station to visit my boyfriend.
The next vlog will be about meeting my boyfriend's parents and the few days I spent at his. See you tomorrow!
Quote of the blog:

What are some of your traditions at Christmas from when you were younger? DM me them on Instagram (cc29297)
For us, we would sit on the stairs after eating breakfast (little mini cereal boxes) and we would have our photo taken in our PJs. We would then go in and open our stockings which always had a bag of crisps in it which my sister would sit and eat. We then open our main presents from Mum and Dad and 'Santa' and then open each other's gifts. We open the rest of the families and then chill out for a bit. For lunch, we have something small and we eat Christmas dinner at about 3:00 pm. In the evening Dad goes upstairs and comes back dressed in a Father Christmas outfit and gives us books.
