How I fell in love...

Have you ever been in love? Maybe you are sitting reading this next to your life partner or a bowl of marshmallows and a bar of chocolate.

When you fell in love did you get butterflies...sorry did you get pigeons in your stomach fluttering around?

Well, I did...this is how I knew he was the one.

There were 5 of us in the kitchen, 3 of them were playing a game on a laptop and I was playing with my flatmate's hair. I will set the scene for you... 3 blue chairs in a row, my flatmate was in between my legs whilst I played with his hair. I was scrolling on TikTok (SimplyCC04) when a Snapchat notification came up from the previous guy I liked. The Snapchat said, ' I hope you find someone right for you'. My heart broke. My flatmate saw the message as well. My hand flopped onto the chair next to me and he rested his hand on top for a millisecond. That milli second caused a flutter in my stomach. I ignored it though. A while passed and I started thinking more about certain things my flatmate had done for me since we met.

Things he had done for me:

1. Listened to all the drama from everyone on the dating app

2. Sent me lots of duck pictures after a distressing scenario

3. Chilled in the kitchen with me every day even though he could have been gaming

4. Anytime I needed to help someone drunk he would come with me

5. He would help clean the kitchen up after a messy night, even though it had nothing to do with us

I took 2 of my flatmates to my bedroom and told them about the text I had sent and the fact the other flatmate held my hand after seeing it. I told them all the things I had noticed over the past few weeks and said how I might go for it because I could tell he really liked me and I got butterflies in my stomach when I was around him.

After the chat, I went back into the kitchen and all of my flatmates had gone to bed. I sat in between my flatmate's legs and we spoke a little bit about what had happened that night. It felt right in the moment and then we shared a little kiss.

Just to clarify this was my first kiss ever... I couldn't have asked for anything better. It is definitely something I will always remember.

Now I know you must be thinking, this girl is a player. She liked one guy and then as soon as another guy came along she jumped ship so quickly. I have never dated before and I have never had 'real' crushes except for celebrities. These included Zac Efron, Justin Beiber and Channing Tatum. I did not know what to expect when I came to university, however now that I have been with my boyfriend for over 10 months, it feels amazing and right. This was the start of our crazy journey.

The night ended at about 3:00 am when we went to separate rooms, but I found it difficult to sleep because I could not stop thinking about him and my first kiss.
