My boyfriend is slightly younger than me but 2 months, bless him. I had never planned a birthday for a boyfriend, because I had never had a boyfriend. I wanted it to be perfect, but I was not too sure how much to spend on him and what to do. I wanted to spend money on him, but had to bear in mind I was a university student.
The night before his birthday, I set the kitchen up with balloons and a birthday boy sign and then a friend gave me a curtain of tinsel so I put it over the door and plastered balloons on the doors in the corridor too. It was a nice and cute little set-up.

I went into Morrisons and brought him his favourite foods and drinks such as Snickers, monsters, and crispies and then I brought him a chocolate cake too. I also brought him a plaque in the shape of a gaming controller with his name on it from Etsy. https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/1206707356/wooden-personalised-games-controller?ref=yr_purchases
He wanted to go and see the movie Five Nights at Freddies which is a horror film. I booked him tickets to the cinema. At first, it was for us and then he invited the girl from the last blog and she invited 2 of her friends. It was nice, I wanted it to be the 2 of us, but it was his birthday so he was allowed to invite whoever he wanted.
It was a very good film, I enjoyed it. He even made me watch this guy on YouTube who plays the FNAF games. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iOztnsBPrAA&list=PLRikY_9rgYpSXkTHjWEOGYnhWsIRwWvEf
I thought it was a very good first birthday and cannot wait for his next birthday, the big 20.
Quote of the blog:

Even if you have no one to spend your birthday with, go out and buy a cake, buy some candles, light it and then eat it. It is the small things that count.
